KARACHI, April 6: Atiya Ashir, widow of the late Mohammed Ashir, former News Editor of Dawn, and elder sister of S.A. Meenai, Assistant Editor, Dawn, expired on Saturday. She was 85.

She is survived by a daughter and three sons. Her burial will take place at the PECHS graveyard after Namaz-i-Janaza with Asr prayers at Masjid-i-Rahmania, Tariq Road, on Sunday.

Quran Khwani will be held on Monday at 44/1, 17th Street, Off Khayaban-i-Mujahid, Phase V, Defence Housing Authority, between Zuhar and Maghrib.
