LAHORE, Jan 12: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) amir Qazi Husain Ahmad has condemned the ‘house arrest’ of Justice Rana Bhagwandas in Karachi and termed it a contempt of judiciary and system of justice.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Qazi said Justice Bhagwandas was bringing to fore the facts of Nov 2 while the rulers wanted to suppress the truth by silencing the Supreme Court’s deposed judge.

The JI chief said President Musharraf was an obstacle in the independence of judiciary and restoration of democracy and was violating human rights.

Qazi urged all political parties to launch a joint struggle by boycotting the polls.
