A deadly act of terrorism: SCBA

Published January 11, 2008

LAHORE, Jan 10: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) termed the Thursday blast a deadly example of terrorism.

At an urgent meeting held at the SCBA office, vice-president Ghulam Nabi Bhatti said the blast was a conspiracy as lawyers were also scheduled to bring out a rally from Aiwan-e-Adal which was to conclude at the high court building.

He said the rally was delayed by chance otherwise the number of casualties would have been much higher.

He said the lawyers were united and not afraid of such cowardly acts. The lawyers’ movement would continue, he added.

Expressing sympathy with the relatives of blast victims on behalf of SCBA members, he said lawyers would stand with them in this hour of

grief.—APP
