LAHORE, Jan 9: A two-member delegation of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is leaving here on Thursday to attend the Beijing Olympics’ torch relay test being held at Sanya Island in China’s Hinan Province on January 12-13.

The delegation comprises treasurer, POA, and Project Director Capital Development Authority, Syed Muhammad Hasan Rizvi.

The Beijing Olympics Organising Committee is carrying out this test in order to gain first hand experience with the Olympic flame inside of China.

The same travelling pattern will then be followed in the 22 designated countries of the world to play hosts to it, one of which also happens to be Pakistan.

The organising committee has invited representatives of all the 22 countries to attend the test and also educate them about the arrangements being made for the mega event.—APP
