KOHAT, Jan 8: The area people in separate shows of anger on Tuesday blocked the Kohat-Hangu Road, Peshawar-Turkham Road and Indus Highway to protest against prolonged loadshedding of electricity.

A large number of protesters gathered at the road between Kohat and Hangu and blocked it for several hours near Bahadar Banda. They called for and end to unannounced loadshedding in their areas and asked the Wapda authorities not to go beyond the four-hour loadshedding schedule as announced by the government.

In Darra Adam Khel, tribesmen blocked the Indus Highway for an hour. They dispersed peacefully after the tribal administration assured them that their problem would be resolved soon.

In Landikotal tehsil, armed people of Khuga Khel and Shinwari tribes blocked the road between Peshawar and Turkhan at two points for two hours. The road was blocked for a third time in a week in protest against loadshedding.
