BADIN, April 3: At least 25 children died of measles in the coastal villages of Golarchi taluka in recent days.
The disease has also reportedly spread to villages of Karo Goomgro and zero point of the coastal belt.
According to residents of Shaheed Fazil town, about 600 children had been afflicted with the disease and the number might rise.
The villagers, Moor Dhandal, Esso Rajo, Haji Mallah and others, accused the health officials and the Nazims for neglecting the victims.
The outbreak of measles at present is reported in Ahmed Rajo circle and many chaks.
DISTRICT NAZIM: The district Nazim, Kamal Khan Chang, after resuming the office on Wednesday, occupied the office of the district coordination officer in the district secretariat.
He ordered the DCO to sit in a near by room previously used by the EDO (revenue).
Mr Chang just after assuming the office after a row with the DCO issued his first order of assigning himself the charge of president, Badin Gymkhana, and relieved the DCO as president of the Gymkhana.
He appointed a five-member adhoc committee to finalize the issue of the Gymkhana.
The committee consists of Dr Abdul Sattar Channa, Mohammad Hassan Memon, Riaz Ahmed Memon, Abdul Sattar Memon and Zahid Khwaja.
