OKARA, April 3: Two people were shot dead while three others were kidnapped allegedly by the son of a former MPA from Fatehpur village, some 25 kilometres from here, near Gogera on Tuesday night.

Masood Shafqat son of former MPA the late Shafqat Rubera and his companions Bahlak, etc., had made passage through the fields of Khizar Hayat son of Chaudhry Mian Khan Rubera.

They had quarrelled over the issue before as Masood forbade them to use his fields.

On Tuesday, Khizar was sitting in his farm house along with his brother Omar Hayat and friends Zafar Ahmad, Ali Sher, Rab Nawaz, Muhammad Nawaz s/o Jafar Khan, and Muhammad Nawaz s/o Manzoor Ahmad. Meanwhile, Masood Shafqat along with Asad Abbas, Ghulam Haider, Liaquat Ali, Saadi, Bahlak, Wilayat alias Bagoo, etc., came there and started firing on them, killing Ali Sher and Nawaz s/o Manzoor Ahmad on the spot. They kidnapped Rab Nawaz, Omar Hayat and Nawaz s/o Jafar Khan.
