PR Sukkur Official suspended

LAHORE, Jan 1: An assistant engineer of the railways Sukkur division has been suspended from service in connection with the derailment of the Karachi Express near Mehrabpur on Dec 19.

A notification issued by the railways reads: “The competent authority (general manager/ operations railways) under Section 4 of the Removal from Service (Special Powers) Ordinance 2000, has been pleased to place Moeenul Haq, AEN, Sukkur, under suspension with effect from Dec 31, 2007, in connection with derailment of 15-Up (Karachi Express) between Lakha Road and Mehrabpur stations of Sukkur division on 19/12/2007.” — Staff Reporter
