LARKANA, April 2: In a drive against criminals, the Larkana police arrested 120 absconders and recovered 24 unlicensed weapons.
The district police officer (DPO), Larkana, Ghulam Nabi Memon on Tuesday said the arrests had brought down the crime graph in the district considerably.
Giving the details, he said six Kalashnikovs, eight shot guns, eight pistols, and two rifles had been recovered from their possession.
Three proclaimed offenders — Sharbat Korkani, Roshan Brohi and Haji Mithal Korkani — have also been arrested by the Taluka and Kambar police stations.
The DPO said that the Larkana police had also picked 10 harbourers of criminals during the drive. They were Habibullah Kalhoro, Ghulam Rasool Kori, Hizbullah, Abdul Qadir, Liaquat Ali, Haddan Kalhoro, Bagh Ali, Mehrab, Amir Bakhsh Abro, and Azizullah Abro.
He said that the police had also arrested three drug traffickers — Peeral Shah, Kabir Qazi and Rustam Qazi.
DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES: The Sindh Government under phase three of the Khushhal Pakistan Programme (KPP) approved and released an amount of Rs11.875 million to undertake 13 development schemes in the communication sector in Kambar Taluka of Larkana District.
Under the plan, repairing and construction of link roads in the limits of Kambar Taluka will be carried out.
All the development schemes will be completed by June.
