Man shot dead by police in Kent

LONDON, Dec 29: Armed police officers shot a man dead on Saturday near Sevenoaks, Kent police said.

Police said officers had been called to Tumblefield Road in the Kent village of Stansted at 7:51am after reports that a man was armed with a gun.

Police said no other people were reported injured and that no one else was involved.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as is normal with police shootings.—Reuters
