KHAIRPUR, Dec 26: A complete shutter down strike was observed in Khairpur on Wednesday after the murder of a trader. A franchise owner, Insaf Ali Chandio, 30, was shot dead by bandits after he refused to hand over them cash on Wednesday.

Insaf Ali Chandio along with his brother Matloob Hussain Chandio 35, was on his way on a motorbike from mohalla Chandio Morr to Khairpur city to deposit cash in a bank on early Wednesday morning.

Three armed men intercepted them and tried to snatch motorbike, cash, mobile phones and other valuables from them near Khanan Shah graveyard on Khairpur-Civil Hospital road.

The bandits opened fire on them when they resisted. As a result of firing Insaf Ali died on the spot while Matloob Hussain received bullet injuries.

He was rushed to Civil Hospital and admitted in a critical condition. The armed men, however, escaped with snatched hand bag of cash and other valuables.

A large number of people from Chandio community placed the body on Chandia Morr chowk and blocked four main roads in protest against the incident. They raised slogans against police inefficiency.

DPO Khairpur Din Mohammad Baloch and DSP city, Akbar Wagan, reached there and assured them of arrest of the accused after which the body was taken to hospital for post-mortem.

The angry youngsters of Chandio community along with other citizens reached Khairpur city and appealed the traders for protest after which traders in all main bazaars and markets in the city including Shahi bazaar, Panj Gulla chowk, Phool Bagh road, Mall road, Lady Willington hospital road and old Foujdari bazaar to observe a complete strike against day light robberies and murders. No case was registered till the filing of this report.

On the other hand, Anjuman-e-Tajiran Khairpur president, Qutbuddin Shaikh has expressed concern over murder of trader Insaf Ali Chandio. He said that the Anjuman and other trade organisations of Khairpur have been raising voice against lawlessness in the city but to no avail.

FAILURE: Police have failed to find any clue of mysterious murder of brother of Sajjada Nasheen (custodian) of Dargah of renowned Sufi saint of Sindh, Faqir Khush Khair Mohammad Hisbani late on Tuesday.

Reports said that body of Faqir Ronaq Ali Hisbani 35, bearing torture marks, with his hands tied and face covered with a gunny bag, was found from the tail-end of Ali Nawaz wah in Faiz Ganj taluka on Tuesday.

The area police brought the body to Faiz Ganj taluka hospital for post-mortem after which it was handed over to relatives and was laid to rest late on Tuesday night.

The deceased was brother of Faqir Darsan Ali, Sajjada Nasheen Dargah Khush Khair Mohammad and uncle of SPSF district president, Zakir Hussain Hisbani. Faqir Ronaq Ali was missing for the last one week.
