Nine hits by robbers in Lahore

LAHORE, Dec 25: Robbers and thieves struck at least nine times in the provincial capital on Tuesday and deprived citizens of their valuables.

Two robbers, riding a bike, deprived a man of his motorcycle and a cell phone in Racecourse police precincts.

Mohammad Tanveer, a resident of Gulistan Colony, Dharampura, told the police that he was on his way on a bike (LR-947) when two armed motorcyclists intercepted him near GOR-I and deprived him of his two-wheeler and a cell phone at gunpoint.

Police have registered a case.

Two armed motorcyclists stopped Akhtar Bibi, of Nishtar Block, Iqbal Town, at gunpoint in Gulshan Iqbal police precincts when she was parking her car on the premises of her office. The robbers snatched five gold bangles, three rings and Rs2,000 from her and managed to escape.

Rameez Raja, a resident of Al-Falah Town, was passing through Bhatta Chowk in South Cantonment area when two armed men, riding a bike, stopped him and snatched Rs1,000 and a cell phone at gunpoint.

Two robbers stormed into a clinic at Kot Dhooni Chund in Manawan area, held Dr Khalid Bukhari hostage at gunpoint, collected Rs37,500 and a cell phone and fled.

Some robbers barged into the house of Asif in Janipura in Gujjarpura police precincts and escaped after looting cash and valuables.

Two robbers entered a house in street 2 of Kot Khwaja Saeed in Mughalpura police limits, held a female family member at gunpoint and made off with Rs15,000 and some jewellery.
