BADIN, Dec 25: The Sindh irrigation department has announced that water supply from Kotri Barrage to its five canals in Badin, Tattha and Tando Mohammad Khan districts will remain suspended till Jan 5 due to rotation.

The growers including Bahadur Khan and others have condemned suspension of the water supply to the canals and said crops on lands along the coastal areas would be severely affected due to this action.

They said that people were even unable to get drinking water.

They have demanded of the government to take steps for resumption of water supply to the canals so that their crops could be saved from damages.—PPI
