KOHAT, Dec 23: The provincial president of the Pakistan People’s Party on Sunday ordered the expulsion of the divisional president of Kohat, Nadir Khan Khattak, for violating the party discipline, a press release received here said.

The press release signed by Rahim Dad Khan, the provincial president of PPP, said that Nadir Khan Khattak had been campaigning for Malik Asad, an independent candidate for NA-14 Kohat, against the party nominee Abdur Rauf. He had been asking the party candidate to withdraw from the elections in favour of Malik Asad who was contesting for the NA seat as an independent candidate.

It is important to note that the party leadership had refused party ticket to Malik Asad retaining his membership in the party. But he decided to contest against the candidate of his own party in protest.—Correspondent
