Ayesha claims badminton crown

KARACHI, Dec 18: Reigning national champion Ayesha Akram completed the triple crown in the All Pakistan Women’s badminton championship at the Karachi Club courts on Monday evening.

the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to team title on Saturday, completed the feat by winning the singles and doubles events.

Showing her prowess in the singles final, she outclassed her NBP team-mate Sara Mahmand 21-9, 21-11.

Later, pairing with Palwasha Bashir, she defeated the pair of Sara Khan and Sara Mahmand 21-6, 21-17.

NBP had won the team title by overcoming Railways 3-0 to show their domination in the four-day competition.

The winners of both singles and doubles events collected Rs10,000 each while the runners-up received Rs5,000 apiece.
