KHAIRPUR, Dec 18: Two Hindu traders, Nanik Ram and Kanwar Ram, were freed from dacoits’ hideouts after a joint operation carried out by Khairpur and Ghotki police in Khanpur taluka of Ghotki district.

The DPO of Khairpur, Din Mohammad Baloch told journalists on Tuesday that Ghotki and Khairpur police besieged a place in Khanpur taluka, Ghotki district, where they had received information regarding movement of kidnappers.

He added that after an encounter on Monday night, the two kidnapped traders were freed. They were kidnapped from Kumb road near Babbar Wada area two months ago.

KILLED: A young girl died and her brother received injuries during a robbery bid on Tuesday. Reports said that one Mushtaq Shar, resident of Malik Dino Shar, Thari Mirwah taluka, along with his two sisters namely Bashiran and Mukhtaran, was on his way from their village to Khairpur on a motorcycle to see a doctor.

When they reached at Jiskani link road, three armed men intercepted them and tried to snatch the motorcycle. The motorcycle snatchers opened fire when Mushtaq resisted.

As a result of firing Bashiran got injured and died on way to hospital, while Mushtaq also sustained injuries. The armed men escaped with the motorcycle.
