Injured Rasel ruled out

DHAKA, Dec 17: Bangladesh fast bowler Syed Rasel has been ruled out from the ongoing New Zealand tour with injury, a senior official of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said on Monday.

Uncapped left-arm pacer Sajidul Islam will replaced Rasel, who injured his collar bone while fielding in an one-day warm-up match in Hamilton, New Zealand on Sunday.

Sajidul, who performed brilliantly in the National Cricket League, will fly to New Zealand on Tuesday.

“Sajidul is an identical bowler to Rasel and also has been in very good form. So we have unanimously decided to send him to New Zealand as a replacement,” chief selector Rafiqul Alam said.

Bangladesh play the first of three one-dayers against the Kiwis on Dec 26. They will also play two Tests next month.
