BUNER, Dec 16: Police and Bomb Disposal Squad personnel foiled an attempt to blow up a private girls’ college here in Swari on Sunday. They defused the high intensity improvised explosive device (IED) aimed at destroying the Educator College.

Police said if exploded the 30kg bomb would have destroyed the entire building of the college and an adjacent clinic. Sources said that building’s owner Azizul Akbar had informed the police that someone had left a mysterious bundle close to the building.—Correspondent
