SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 15: Three unidentified armed dacoits took away Rs4.1 million from Allied Bank’s Stadium branch on Saturday, after overpowering the guards on duty.

Reports said the dacoits held up the staff, including two bank guards, collected the cash and fled away on a motorcycle.

City A-Division police were investigating. However, no arrest could be made so far.

SHOT DEAD: Two drunken men shot dead a labourer in city area on Saturday.

Reports said the accused took excessive liquor at the residence of a police employee, Ashiq Hussain, and got drunk. Meanwhile, one Boota Dinndar entered the place which panicked the accused, who opened fire on him, killing him on the spot. A Division police are investigating the case.

DBA: The District Bar Association on Saturday observed a token strike from 11am to 1pm against the deposition of superior court judges.

The lawyers later held a meeting in the bar council office and chanted slogans against President Musharraf for taking the unconstitutional and unjustified step.

They said that they would continue their struggle till the reinstatement of deposed judges.
