SWABI, Dec 15: PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has resolved the issue of party tickets for two National and six provincial assembly seats in the Swabi district, party’s local leadership said.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, PML-N district president Iftikhar Ahmad Khan said the names of candidates were finalised and communicated to him by Nawaz Sharif in Sirikot on Thursday. He said that former president of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Gadoon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Liaquat Ahmad Khan, was awarded ticket for NA-13 and he himself would contest from NA-12. “We will contest election with a full force,” he said.He said that adjustment with other political parties at the district level was possible, but the PML-N would never enter into an electoral alliance with the PML-Q and the PPP-S.

The party awarded ticket to Israr Khan for PF-36. Former MPA Abdullah Khan rejoined the PML-N and his son Tariq Zaman got the ticket for PF-35.

The remaining four tickets have been awarded to Haji Dildar Khan for PF-31, Mohammad Kamal for PF-32, Rabnawaz Khan for PF-33 and Niaz Wali Shah Bacha for PF-34.

PPP-S candidate Jehan Zeb Bahadar withdrew his nomination papers in favour of district nazim Shahram Khan’s uncle Javid Iqbal Tarakai, who is contesting election from PF-32.

Mr Bahadar’s withdrawal has set the stage for a tough competition between the ANP candidate Amir Rehman and Mr Tarakai.
