KARAK, Dec 13: All mainstream political parties are in the field for the National Assembly seat NA-15 and provincial assembly seats, PF-40 and PF-41 in the Karak district, which is dominated by the Khattak tribe.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Q has fielded Mohammad Ayub Khattak for NA-15, while the ANP has awarded its ticket to former provincial minister Sher Nawaz Khattak for the same seat.

The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F has fielded Mufti Ajmal, while the Sami faction of the JUI has fielded former MMA MNA, Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz.

Mufti Ajmal had contested the last election as an independent candidate after being denied a ticket by the MMA.

Former MNA Shamsur Rehman Khattak is contesting the election for NA-15 on a PML-N ticket, while former provincial minister Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan is in the field as an independent candidate.

The Nawabzada had been disqualified in the previous elections due to the graduation condition, but this time around he possesses a degree as he has graduated from the Shah Abdul Latif University, Sindh.
