Attock nazim accused of rigging

TAXILA, Dec 11: A local leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has accused Attock district nazim of misusing official resources during the election campaign of the candidates of the Q League.

Talking to reporters at Hassanabdal on Tuesday, PPP Attock chapter president Sher Afzal Khan expressed doubts over holding of free, fair and transparent elections in the district as “the district nazim is running the election campaign of PML-Q candidates including his daughter and son-in-law”. He said the nazim was busy in poll campaigns. “This sorry state of affairs poses serious questions regarding the transparency of the upcoming elections,” he said, and reiterated the PPP demand of local bodies’ suspension before the polls.
