ISLAMABAD, Dec 9: Ten low-rank officials of the capital police have been awarded different punishments for poor performance, absence from duty and violation of discipline.

A spokesman for the police told Dawn here on Sunday that the action was taken by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Syed Kaleem Imam.

The SSP awarded punishment of delay in promotion to sub- inspector, Mohammad Alam and assistant sub-inspector, Mohammad Nawaz for their poor performance, two years deduction in service to head constable, Munir Ahmad on account of negligence in duty, and a delay in promotion to constables Babar Hussain, Zulfiqar, Mohammad Waseem and Liaquat on similar grounds.

Likewise, punishment of deduction in service for two years was awarded to constable Imtiaz for absence from duty without any reason, while one year deduction in service was given to constable Yasir Shah for the same reason. A punishment of forced retirement was given to constable Nisar Khan for absence from duty.
