OKARA, Dec 6: Robbers in police uniform snatched gold “worth Rs3.5 million” from a man on Okara-Faisalabad Road near Chak 34/GD late on Wednesday night.

Qadir Pervaiz was returning home with his wife Khalida from his in-laws when five robbers in police uniform, on a car with a blue light on it, stopped him near Chak

34/GD and snatched “164 tola gold” from him. The robbers also beat the couple before fleeing.

‘DACOIT’ HANGS SELF: A man arrested by police in a dacoity case allegedly hanged himself to death in a lockup of the Cantt Police Station.

According to police, alleged dacoit Noor was arrested along with his accomplices Javed and Irshad, all residents of Chak 4005/GB near Tandlianwala, sometime ago. He allegedly hanged himself late on Wednesday night. His body was sent to the district hospital for an autopsy.
