ARD-APDM demands unrealistic: Shujaat

Published December 6, 2007

ISLAMABAD, Dec 5: Pakistan Muslim League president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said on Wednesday that the ARD and APDM were making unrealistic demands and the charter being prepared by them would meet the same fate as the charter of democracy.

“In fact the two alliances have nothing to offer to the people and, therefore, they are raising non-issues,” he told APP in an interview.

He termed the demands for reconstitution of the Election Commission and setting up a new caretaker government illogical and said these were performing their functions well to ensure free, fair and transparent election.

He said there was no question of delaying the elections. Speculations that the elections could be postponed for two months were baseless, he added.—APP
