HYDERABAD, Dec 5: The Pakistan People’s Party leader and candidate for NA-222 Tando Mohammad Khan, Syed Naveed Qamar, said on Wednesday that the PPP would not boycott the general elections because it was the biggest political party of the country, had roots among masses and claimed that boycotting the elections would harm the country.

He said the party could not disappoint people by resorting to boycott of elections.

He was addressing a gathering at Pir Mohalla of Tando Mohammad Khan.

He said the PPP was struggling for the restoration of democracy in the country and added that PPP and PML-N had presented a ‘charter of demand’ to the government in this regard.

Speaking on the occasion, former Sindh minister and PPP candidate for PS-53 Tando Mohammad Khan Syed Mohsin Shah Bukhari said the former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim was still exercising all the powers of his former post and running election campaign of their party candidates.

He urged the Election Commission to take notice of the activities of Mr Arbab.

He claimed that the PPP would defeat Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim in his own constituency of Thar.

Reports said that on this occasion, eight leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement led by Fareed Ahmed Shaikh announced to join the PPP.

The district president of the party Tando Mohammad Khan, Haji Mohammad Amin Lakho, city president Mashooq Ali Bhatti, Shafique Ahmed Bhatti, Gul Ali Bhatti and others also spoke on the occasion.

DISTRICT NAZIM: Tando Mohammad Khan District Nazim Mir Inayat Ali Talpur said on Wednesday that the people would vote in the general elections on the past performances of political parties while adding that the district government had spend tens of millions of rupees on different welfare schemes throughout the district.
