SAHIWAL, Dec 2: District Nazim Rai Hassan Nawaz has put the official machinery into the election campaign of his brother Rana Azizullah and nephew Rai Murtaza Iqbal, who have filed nomination papers for national and provincial assemblies’ seats, respectively.

This was alleged in a complaint submitted to the Chief Election Commission of Pakistan (CECP) by candidate Amjad Hussain Bukhari from PP-222.

The complainant claimed that the district nazim was using official vehicles for the election campaign of his kin in sheer violation of election code of conduct.

PPP candidate Amjad Hussain Bukhari suggested that the local body system should be suspended for the time being so that the election could be held in a fair and transparent way.

IMRAN KHAN: Tehrik-i-Insaaf Chief Imran Khan should not make the judges disputed by holding meetings with them.

This was stated by MMA Punjab vice-president and former MNA Qazi Hamidullah Khan while talking to journalists at the residence of Qari Abu Bakar here on Sunday.

He said that Imran Khan, who had played a key role in the referendum held by General Pervez Musharraf (retired), was now befooling the public by portraying himself as a staunch supporter of democracy and fighting for the cause of judiciary.

Mr Hamidullah said the MMA would play its due role for the independence of judiciary and the end of emergency in the country.

He said the JUI-F would contest the elections on the platform of MMA as boycott would only mean to give a free hand to the PML-Q in the political arena.
