MULTAN, Dec 2: Deposed Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Jahangir Arshad said here on Sunday he would not reply to a notice issued by the LHC assistant registrar for return of an official car in his use “because he was not authorised to ask him to return the car”.

Talking to Dawn, Justice Arshad said he would not return his official car because he had not been notified about his retirement or removal from service. He said he had completed three years of service as an LHC judge and now it was his discretion to buy this car or return it. He however said he would not return the car until the authorities concerned offer him either to buy this car or return it.

The LHC official served notices on deposed Justice Jahangir Arshad, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Omer Atta Bandial on Dec 1, asking them to return the official cars in their use. — Staff Correspondent
