PESHAWAR, Dec 2: Former federal minister for interior and chief of his own faction of the Pakistan People’s Party, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, has said that ideological workers are assets for the party.

Addressing a function to mark the joining of PPP leader from Mardan (PF-23) Bashir Khan Advocate and his supporters into his group, Mr Sherpao welcomed new entrants and said it would prove to be a good omen for the development of Mardan district.

He said the PPP(S) was a democratic party in which all party workers were given representation in the decision making process. Similarly, he added, the PPP(S) leadership accorded due respect to party workers and kept them in high esteem.

The party workers, he added, had rendered great sacrifices for the party.

Mr Sherpao said the PPP(S) was emerging as a big political force in Mardan district and claimed that the pragmatic approach of his party on all national issues was attracting people towards it.

He expressed concern over increase in prices of essential commodities, including flour and cooking oil.—APP
