HARIPUR, Dec 2: The court of judicial magistrate city area here on Saturday granted physical remand of all three accused in a bank cash fraud to the investigation officer. Police had arrested Allied Bank Shahra-e-Hazara branch cashier Mian Zahoor Elahi, bank guard Bashir Ahmed and Phoenix Armour Company crewman Rasheed on the complaint of bank manager Raja Tanvir.

The manager in his complaint said that on Nov 27 Mian Zahoor told him that four bundles totalling Rs2 million had been found missing from the cash. He said all the three accused were inside the counter when the cash was reported missing.

Investigation officer Sub-Inspector Arshad Mehmood Khan told Dawn that the matter was initially probed by City Police Station ASI Mir Afzal Khan who found the three men involved in the fraud. He said that an FIR against the three persons was lodged on Nov 28 and they were picked up for investigation.

The investigation officer produced them before judicial magistrate Ms Javeria Sartaj and obtained physical remand of the cashier and bank guard for another one day and of the Phoenix’s guard for two days.
