90 fairs allotted to trade bodies

KARACHI, Nov 28: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has decided to organise only 20 trade exhibitions in a year and handover the remaining 90 fairs to trade bodies and exporters associations. These exhibitions are annually held in around 50 countries of the world.

In a meeting chaired by Secretary TDAP Naved Arif on Wednesday it was decided to expand the scope of the marketing department of the authority to help identify products and promote research work. It was felt that there was a greater need to promote small and medium size exporters.

The TDAP will use its website for inviting exporters to various exhibitions and select them through a standard criteria after verification of their eligibility, says a press release.
