Pakistan pairs Reach doubles’ final

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: Waqas Ahmed and Kashif of Pakistan won the men’s doubles semi-final against Sri Lanka’s pair of Dinuka and Diluka Karunaratne in the International Ranking badminton tournament at the Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex, here on Tuesday.

The scores were 15-21, 21-19, 21-17.

In the other semi-final, Pakistan’s Rizwan Azam and Mohammad Attique overcame Ashraf Masih and Atif Nadeem 10-21, 21-15, 21-8.

In the men’s singles semi-final, Canada’s Bobby Milroy outclassed Pakistan’s Umar Zeeshan 21-12, 21-11.

The other semi-final was contested between Arvind Bhat of India and Niluka Karunaratne of Sri Lanka with the former winning it with scores of 24-22, 21-15.

In the women’s singles semi-final, Maja Kersnik of Slovenia defeated Portugal’s Lamy Fillipa 13-21, 21-12, 21-10.—PPI
