TORONTO, Nov 27: Canada has accepted the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) invitation to stage the 2012 Under-19 World Cup.

The president Ben Sennik told the AGM on Sunday: “We believe this will be a valuable milestone for Canadian cricket since it means we will be able to welcome representative teams from the full-member ICC countries to Canadian shores.”

Sennik also announced plans for turf pitches in Montreal and Vancouver which they aim to finalise by 2009.
