TIMERGARA, Nov 26: The Lower Dir district government has set up four transit relief camps in Adenzai tehsil for the displaced families of Swat.

The buildings of the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Chakdara, Government College in Gulabad and Government High School and Basic Health Unit in Asbanr had been vacated for the families migrating from Swat, sources said on Monday.

District Coordination Officer Dr Attaur Rahman and Nazim Ahmad Hassan Khan visited the sites on Monday and issued orders to set up temporary camps here. The nazim sanctioned Rs200,000 for medicines and treatment of the displaced people.

The DCO told journalists that committees comprising union councils’ nazmis, naib nazims, journalists and officials had been constituted for each camp.

He said the district revenue officer would monitor the committees with the help of the tehsil nazim. He said all necessary arrangements had been completed and the families living in the open shifted to the camps.

He said the buildings would serve as temporary camps during curfew or other restrictions.
