MIRAMSHAH, Nov 24: Three people were killed and five others, including children, injured when security forces pounded three villages in Mirali tehsil of North Waziristan on Friday night.

Political authorities had asked residents of Haiderkhel, Barokhel and Katikhel villages to hand over the militants who had attacked security forces at the Khajuri checkpost a few days ago.

They were warned that they would face action under territorial responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation. The residents of the three villages failed to capture the culprits.

Sources said that security forces fired artillery from their bases in Mirali and Khajuri area and targeted residential compounds.
