KHAIRPUR, Nov 20: The chairman of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Bashir Khan Qureshi, said on Monday that Benazir Bhutto’s coming to power in a country where justice was non-existent would not solve the problems of Sindh and Sindhis.

Mr Qureshi said at a gathering in Kharri village after laying floral wreath on the grave of Shaheed Aziz Phul that Benazir’s struggle was not for any ideology. She just wanted to get into power, he added.

His party had condemned terrorist attack on Benazir Bhutto’s caravan in Karachi on Oct 18 because the JSQM was against terrorism and extremism, he said and urged Benazir Bhutto to strive for providing justice to the families of 160 people who lost their lives in the tragedy.

He said that the JSQM would not get involved in election politics because the founder of Jeay Sindh Tehrik, G.M. Syed, had rejected it during his life. The power hungry parties did not have any ideology and the federalist parties did not have any programme for Sindh’s prosperity, he said, adding, that the emergency had deprived the people of the country in general and the oppressed people of the three provinces in particular, of all their rights.

Attempts were being made to stop the nationalist movement and the parties engaged in power politics had also realised the importance of nationalists’ struggle, he remarked.

The doors to justice had been closed on the people of Sindh, he said.

Among others Faqir Imdad Mangi, Ikhlaq Jokhio, Mohammad Sharif Phul, Amjad Mahessar and Lala Veesar also spoke on the occasion.
