SHIKARPUR, Nov 19: Journalists brought out a rally and held a demonstration on Monday in protest against curbs on private TV channels, imposition of emergency and arrest of journalists.

The rally led by Agha Younus Pathan, vice-president of Shikarpur press club, and senior journalists demanded repeal of Provisional Constitution Order, lifting of ban on Geo News, ARY OneWorld and other news channels and release of arrested journalists.

A large number of people belonging to Soomro community and activists of Pakistan People’s Party also brought out a rally and staged a demonstration in Chak town in protest against alleged torture of MPA Ayaz Soomro in Larkana and arrest of party leaders and workers.
