Jailed SCBA leader shifted to hospital

LARKANA, Nov 13: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Vice-President and Sukkur High Court Bar Association President Imdad Awan, who has been detained under Maintenance of Public Order for 90 days, was shifted to Dewan Mushtaque Coronary Care Unit, Sukkur, after developing heart problem when his blood sugar level rose on Monday night.

He was transported in jail superintendent’s van in midnight from Sukkur central prison, Sukkur High Court Bar Association general secretary Shabir Shar told Dawn on cellphone on Tuesday. He said that Imdad Awan was kept in solitary confinement in the prison which had raised his sugar level. He said that another advocate, Shabir Ahmed Khoso, who was a hypertensive case, had been kept in condemned prisoners’ ward and his blood pressure had shot up.
