KARACHI, Nov 10: Pakistan’s junior hockey team will take part in the eight-nation hockey tournament to be held in Malaysia from January 17, Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Khalid Mahmood said on Saturday.

“We have confirmed our entry to the Malaysian Hockey authorities,” said Khalid who is here to attend the national hockey trials for Champions Trophy at the Hockey Club of Pakistan.

The PHF secretary said world’s leading teams like Australia, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, India, Korea and Malaysia would be taking part in the Malaysian event.

“We are about to finalise the venue and dates for the training camp of junior team in consultation with the junior team management,” he said. He expressed hope that Pakistan’s participation in the 8-nation event will provide good exposure to the team in its build-up for Asian Junior Cup to be held in New Delhi.
