Vinod bags Talent Hunt Tennis title

KARACHI, Nov 10: Top seed Vinod Das on Saturday landed the men’s singles title, thwarting the challenge from third seed Robin Das in the final of 17th Talent Hunt Sindh ranking tennis championship at the CDGK Sports Complex.

Vinod, winner of men’s singles crown of STA development series earlier this year, romped home 6-2, 6-3.

Second seed Mustafa Zaidi took a sweet revenge when he struggled to beat Omer Shahid 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 to claim juniors U-17 title.

Omer had toppled Zaidi 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 earlier in the day to pick up boys U-15 crown.

Abdul Rehman, seeded on top in U-17 and U-15 was knocked out in the pre-finals.

Upcoming Adil Kohari, the second seed, pulled off an upset when he edged top seed Nameer Shamsi in three sets for the boys U-13 title. The scores were 6-1, 5-7, 7-6.

Men’s singles: Vinod Das bt Robin Das 6-2, 6-3.

Juniors U-17 singles: Mustafa Zaidi bt Omer Shahid 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.

Boys U-15 singles: Omer Shahid bt Mustafa Zaidi 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.

Boys U-13 singles: Adil Kohari bt Nameer Shamsi 6-1, 5-7, 7-6.
