VEHARI, Nov 10: Six Jamaat-i-Islami workers were injured when police baton-charged them here on Saturday for taking out a procession against emergency imposition. Later the police arrested three workers.

Among the injured was Jawed Shah, naib Ameer of Vehari district. They were admitted to a local hospital. Meanwhile, police continued hunt for opposition workers throughout the district.

The lawyers on the other hand stayed away from courts.

TOBA TEK SINGH: Complete strike was observed at Toba, Kamalia and Gojra by lawyers to condemn the imposition of emergency and PCO.

A DBA meeting passed a resolution in which it demanded immediate withdrawal of the emergency and reinstatement of all judges who had refused to take oath under the PCO.

The local press club and journalists observed black day on the second consecutive day on Saturday on the call of PFUJ to condemn curbs on media.

KHANEWAL: Police on Saturday arrested Mian Channu city PPP general secretary Yaqoob Alam and Aitbar Khan, a worker.
