PESHAWAR, Nov 7: An outstanding musical show in the Frontier metropolis mesmerised and roused guests to such a degree that almost all performances by various artistes and students were followed by standing ovations.

The event was organised by the Broomfield Hall to celebrate the Halloween. It included folk music, traditional food and performances of students. The last item held the otherwise rowdy audience spellbound.

The school has a tradition of celebrating the Halloween in its branches throughout the country for the past 25 years.

Traditional activities included trick-or-treating, bonfires and costume parties.

The term Halloween is shortened from of All Hallows Evening.

Young Bloomfieldians were all attired in beautiful costumes, entertaining the staff, their fellow students and their parents.

The show was arranged on the school’s premises and was attended by a large number of journalists and people from all walks of life. Students performing various skits in a professional manner stole the limelight.

The provincial metropolis had witnessed many an events in the past, but this was a departure from the past tradition where students themselves presented enjoyable stuff. All performers happened to be college students. It also proved a marked transition from the west to the east, more so because such shows had originated from the west and the students’ dresses depicted the true Pakhtun culture.

The large number of girl students lent beauty to the enjoyable day. At times, it seemed as if one was sitting either in Islamabad or Karachi where such shows have become a routine affair.
