QUETTA, March 24: Former assistant to the Balochistan governor, Khalid Mengal, and his brother were killed in an accident on the ECO Highway, 130km from here, on Sunday.

Khalid Mengal was going to Nushki with his brother Asfandyar when his car crashed into a bridge and fell in a ditch as its tie-rod broke near Kishngi. They died before getting any medical aid.

Local authorities took the bodies to the hospital where doctors confirmed their death. The bodies were handed over to the relatives.

Mr Mengal, a lawyer, was a legal assistant to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees sub-office here.
