ISLAMABAD, Oct 21: A four-member delegation of the health department of Afghanistan met Maulana Abdus Sattar Edhi at the emergency control room set up by the International Edhi Foundation at the Torkham border on Sunday, a press release of Edhi Foundation said.

The Afghan delegation, which was led by director eastern health service, Dr Sher Ali, thanked the Edhi Foundation for providing doctors in Kandahar and Jalalabad.

The Afghan delegation also handed over a list of medical supplies and food items required on emergency basis in different hospitals insides Afghanistan, it said.

Maulana Edhi assured the delegation of supplying the goods immediately and directed the concerned workers of Edhi Foundation to make available the medicines and other supplies requested by Afghan delegation.

Dr Ali also requested the Edhi Foundation to establish ambulance service to Jalalabad on permanent basis.
