TOKYO, Nov 3: Japan Airlines is expected to post a five-fold increase in operating profit for the fiscal half-year due to cost cuts and strong demand for its international flights, the Nikkei daily said on Saturday.
Operating profit is expected to reach 40 billion yen ($349m) in the six months to September, up from 8.16 billion yen in the same period the previous year, the business daily wrote without disclosing sources.
Asia’s largest carrier, which made losses in the last two fiscal years, has been on a restructuring drive.—AFP
