MARDAN, Nov 1: The president of the Mardan chapter of the Shabab-i-Milli has alleged that the executive district officer (education) has appointed Qaris in violation of rules.

Addressing a news conference at the Mardan Press Club on Thursday, Mr Qiamuddin said the provincial government had written to the education department to recruit Qari teachers in schools on the basis of certificates approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

He said that despite clear directives, the education department had appointed non-qualified people and some favourites.

He said that he had sent complaints to higher authorities and even to the anti-corruption department against the anomaly but regretted that no action had been taken yet.
