THATTA, Oct 31: Thousands of PPP activists took out a rally from Makli to Thatta here on Wednesday in protest against ‘media trial’ and use of unparliamentary language by chief ministers of two provinces against PPP leader Benazir Bhutto.

They were led by MPA Sassui Palijo, Abdul Khaliq Soomro, Syed Iqbal Shah and Usman Baloch.

As they entered Thatta city, hundreds of people joined them and raised slogans against the Punjab and Sindh chief ministers.

Protesters observed a sit-in at the rickshaw stop on the National Highway which led to suspension of traffic for two hours. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Sassui Palijo said that Sindh chief minister was using unparliamentary language against Ms Benazir Bhutto and was hurting the feelings of millions of people.

Referring to Karachi blasts, she said that youths had laid their lives to save their leader and Sindh was in a state of mourning.

She regretted that the chief minister instead of sympathising with the affecting family insulting them.
