Navy shooters dominate

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: Navy captured six gold medals while Army and Sindh collected one gold each on the second day of the 16th National shooting championship at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Navy won the medals in 50-metre Prone Rifle (Urooj Fatima, 579 points), individual event of 10-metre Air Pistol (Mehwish Maqsood, 472.1 points), 25-metre Rapid Fire Pistol (M.H. Tabassum, 754.4 points), team event of women’s 50-metre Prone Rifle (1718 points) and 25-metre Rapid Fire Pistol (1644 points).

The sailors also tallied 169 points for gold in Trap Olympic.

Usman Sadiq won Sindh their maiden gold when he aggregated 119 points in the Trap Olympic (individual).

Army finished with gold in team event of 10-metre Air Pistol (women) with 1101 points while Navy (1066) won silver and Islamabad (803) bronze.

Navy now have eight gold medals as compared to three golds of Army and one of Sindh.—APP
