KASUR, Oct 30: Additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday awarded death to two accused along with Rs100,000 fine and life imprisonment, while two others were awarded life terms with Rs50,000 fine each for kidnap, rape and burning alive a schoolteacher in Khudian police precincts.

The accused Amjad, along with his three accomplices Qurban, Imran Ashraf and Ali Hassan had kidnapped a schoolteacher, Rabia, of Pial Kala village and subjected her to gang rape. Later, they burnt her alive.

The police registered a case on the report of victim’s father, Manzoor Ali, but declared the accused innocent, claiming Rabia committed suicide.

The family moved the court which on Tuesday awarded Amjad and Qurban death with Rs100,000 fine and life terms. Meanwhile, Imran and Ali Hassan were awarded life imprisonment with Rs50,000 fine each. — Correspondent
