Hockey trials from Nov 10

KARACHI, Oct 25: The two-day trials to select Pakistan hockey squad for the 30th Champions Trophy will be held at the Hockey Club Pakistan here from November 10, Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Khalid Mahmood said on Thursday.

He said the federation had fixed November 10-11 for the trials. The former Olympian said he requested PHF Chief Mir Zafarullah Jamali also to witness the trials.

An 18-member squad will be picked by the selection committee headed by ex-Olympian Khawaja Zakauddin with Abdul Rasheed, Samiullah Khan as members and manager-cum-coach Islah the coopted member of the committee.

Eight teams including Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, South Korea, Great Britain, Pakistan and host Malaysia will be featuring in the 11- day Champions Trophy.—APP
